Two more French challenges ahead of Team Bahrain McLAREN riders

Monday, 24th August 2020 – Team Bahrain McLaren is heading to France not only for the ‘Le Tour de France’ this week. Two more races are scheduled for our team on the French roads in the next few days. A beautiful one-day challenge in the heartland of French cycling is ahead of our team on 25th August. The riders in the line-up for Bretagne Classic - Ouest France are in perfect shape and looking forward to the race.

This traditional one-day race is held in late August every year, with start and finish in the small village of Plouay, in western France, featuring a hilly course with 3030 m of climbing and 248 km distance and as usual with strong winds from Atlantic.

Line-up for Bretagne Classic - Ouest France: Yukiya Arashiro, Enrico Battaglin, Grega Bole, Ivan Garcia Cortina, Luka Pibernik, Santiago Buitrago Sanchez and Kevin Inkelaar.

On Thursday 27th August riders will challenge four days of cycling through diverse regions and territories of the French countryside. As always, our goals, as well as motivation, are high and we are looking forward to once again test our limits.

Tour Poitou-Charentes en Nouvelle-Aquitaine will start in Montmoreau, and end 671,2 km and four days later in Poitiers. It’s a specific race with five stages in only four days – on the 29th of August, there will be two stages on the same day – a sprinters’ stage in the morning and time trial later in the afternoon.

Tristan Hoffman, our sports director is optimistic about the race: “We will of course try to go in the breakaways and aim for at least a stage win. GC could be difficult because of the time trial but we have some strong finishers with Ivan, Grega, and Enrico in the line-up.”

Grega Bole, one of the GC riders beside Enrico Battaglin said: “I look forward to the both races, especially Plouay, which brought me a lot of success in the past. We will fight again this year.”

Line-up for Tour Poitou-Charentes en Nouvelle-Aquitaine: Yukiya Arashiro, Enrico Battaglin, Grega Bole, Ivan Garcia Cortina, Luka Pibernik, Stephen Williams, Heinrich Haussler.
