The 2020 edition of the Tirreno-Adriatico ended with Jan Tratnik’s 9th place in the individual time trial in San Benedetto del Tronto. The important Italian stage race didn’t start in the right way for our team with the crash in the opening stage of Phil Bauhaus, who was forced to abandon. Hermann Pernsteiner stood out in the two mountain stages coming close to the best in the GC.
“The build-up for the Giro d’Italia is going in the right direction - says Hermann Pernsteiner - and in the next twin days, I’m sure I will improve my conditions to be ready for the start in Sicily. This Tirreno-Adriatico was the perfect trek to test my situation, and I’m going home with good sensations”.
Right signals came from Dylan Teuns, who in the final stages showed that he was in good condition because of the Belgian national championship and the October classics. Also worth noting is Ivan Garcia Cortina’s Top Ten in the sprint on the Senigallia seafront.
Sports Director Franco Pellizotti comments: “It was a decent Tirreno-Adriatico with a good finish and a difficult start. I was expecting signs from Pernsteiner and Tratnik, who will both be in the Giro, and I must say that they both had a good race. I’m also happy with the others and particularly with Teuns, who, stage after stage, has shown that he is getting better and better, and I am convinced that he will be the protagonist in the rest of the season”.
