The 80th Tour de Luxembourg is scheduled from September 15th to 19th. It is very rolling terrain throughout the 5 stages with many short steep hills along the way.

Fast men and classic specialists are among the favorites in this race. Team Bahrain McLaren is heading to Luxembourg with a strong 6-man squad among 8 WorldTeams attending to the race.

“We have a competitive team here and will be looking for stage wins”, says our first Sports Director Tim Harris. 

“The terrain here is very hilly so the race should be exciting. We are not starting with one leader as we want to see how the race develops after the first stage. So all of the riders will have a chance to show themselves at certain times during the race.”

Mark Cavendish would like to enjoy the taste of victory in his debut in Tour de Luxembourg. Grega Bole is among the pre-race favorites, and Marcel Sieberg is the most experienced rider in this race. 

Eros Capecchi was 9th in GC back in 2006. Fred Wright and Santiago Buitrago, two talented riders of Team Bahrain McLaren will be fighting together again after Coppi e Bartali two weeks ago. We look forward to their performance in Luxembourg.
